What motivated you to install solar?
We wanted a low-cost and clean energy alternative to help us in our retirement and to help save the planet for future generations.
How many panels do you have, and if you know, how much energy are you producing, percentage of your electric usage?
We have 18 panels. Not sure regarding percentages, but we pay nothing for our electric bill from May to October. The bill goes up when we need to heat our home with our heat pumps.
What has been the biggest benefit so far? What are you excited about?
We have a sense of pride and satisfaction about not polluting our planet and are excited about the prospect of eventually buying our panels.
What were the obstacles to installing solar and what did you do to overcome them?
Cost seemed an obstacle until we discovered Sunrun, a company that allows one to lease their panels with an option to buy.
What advice do you have for people considering installing solar?
If you possibly can, buy your panels so you get the incentive.
Anything else you want to share?
The system hasn’t needed service since we had it installed.
