“We are very excited to take this next step towards reaching our goal of being 100% renewable by 2035”
Name
Joshua Meehan representing Keene Housing Association
What motivated you to install solar?
Long-term reduction in energy costs and reduced carbon footprint.
How many panels do you have, and if you know, how much energy are you producing, percentage of your electric usage?
The Forest View project includes 801 solar panels that will generate over 260,000 kilowatt-hours of solar electricity and offset approximately 137 tons of carbon pollution each year.
Keene Housing Association has installed a total of 1,208 panels on three multi-family housing units which generate 463,000 kWh. We consume around 3.2 mW.
What has been the biggest benefit so far? What are you excited about?
Significant decrease in energy use intensity and modest decrease in cost. Most excited for cost savings when we purchase arrays after year 5.
What were the obstacles to installing solar and what did you do to overcome them?
Cost and expertise. Entered into solar PPA with ReVision solar.
What advice do you have for people considering installing solar?
Understand the payback calculation, including costs for roof replacement and other ancillary capital investments.
Path to 100%
