What motivated you to install solar?
It felt like a good investment in the environment and in my home.
How many panels do you have, and if you know, how much energy are you producing, percentage of your electric usage?
20 panels produce an average of 105% of my annual needs.
What has been the biggest benefit so far? What are you excited about?
The biggest benefit is I don’t worry about saving every kilowatt today. I wouldn’t say I’m excited about this, but I’m pleasantly surprised that there is no maintenance.
What were the obstacles to installing solar and what did you do to overcome them?
I hadn’t thought about replacing my roof prior to panel installation, but it was a logical undertaking. This task just delayed the project a couple of months.
What advice do you have for people considering installing solar?
Snow can be a problem. If there is a convenient way to prevent snow build-up on or around the panels, I would try to find a solution prior to installation. I don’t try to remove snow for fear of damaging a panel.
